Too long between blogs!!!!

Hello blog readers....actually, this is Jay's wife, Yoon Yi, blogging instead of Jay. The reason?? Well, Jay has been quite busy going between Seattle and Spokane these days. I had a baby about 3 weeks ago (she's really so cute!) and I'm in Seattle recuperating because my family is out here and more help is available. (By the way...no one warns you of how hard it is to go from 1 kid to 2 kids!!!) So, I decided to take over his blog for a little bit...to give him a break...he really is trying quite hard to be a great dad and a good car dealer.

Jay is a very hard worker. He's usually working 6-7 days a week at the dealership because it's our life. Our whole family is involved in every way. We put our all into it so we can be successful. The economy isn't where we want it to be but hard work is still the key. Anyway, he's trying even harder at home to be a huge help because I gave him a hard time about what happened when our 1st child was born. It was the 1st night with Davis in the world and he cried a lot. Now that we are veteran parents, we realized that he was so hungry that he cried his lungs out! Poor thing. Anyway, Davis was crying in the bassinet thing in our room and I couldn't really move my legs. (Epidurals are wonderful.) So I called for Jay but he was dead asleep. I must have called his name like 30 times and still nothing. I grabbed my slipper and threw it at him and he finally awoke to say "What happened!?!" and then fell right back asleep again. It wasn't comical then but it sure is now. So, this time around...he's going above and beyond the call of duty so there isn't another story like that.

Anyway, I guess I will be taking over the blog for now. I think I might share things that happen around the dealership. Who knows..maybe if you have come in and were extremely wonderful or extremely nasty, you'll see a story about yourself here. I think I might also share stuff that just comes to my head about just stuff.....this is a blog...and since I'm a new mom with very little sleep...who knows what will be on here!!!!!

baby, baby, baby....

The first few days are a blur. I can't believe we made it through those days. I was like this with my son as well. And there are times that I know my wife wakes up while I am passed out....how exhausting but ALL worth it. I know she's just a squishy little baby right now, but I think she's the cutest thing in the whole world. All I know is that she can date after she gets married.

So...today the market fell over 500 points...the most in one day since 2001. I guess investors are nervous with Lehman Brothers filing bankruptcy and Merrill Lynch being sold. I would be too if I were an investor. I just want the economy in Spokane to keep steady. That's what I care about. Not just because of my business, but just in general, if things just keep going in Spokane.. everyone will be ok. I guess the highlight of today was that the price of a barrel of oil closed below $100....the first time in months.

Who would have known that this perfect storm for the fall of the economy was brewing? It's far more reaching than most expected......

We'll be stronger in the end...just got to get through it right now.....

I guess it worked!!!

Right after my "no baby" complaint......my wife started feeling a little "weird." Maybe it was bad indigestion...or a little discomfort....or the baby. I don't need to know what it feels like since I know it's pretty bad, so I'm just thankful we have a new member in our family. We had a healthy little baby girl on Sept. 5 around 11am. She's BEAUTIFUL!!! I think I'm already wrapper around her tiny, little finger.

My wife is already shaking her head and laughing at me......I wonder why....

Still no baby!

It's been "anyday" now since last Friday. I just want a healthy baby with a healthy wife... however, this waiting it hard. Probably not as hard as it is on my wife, but I think dads should get a nod here and there. It's not easy on us either! Hopefully, today will be the day, but we have been saying that everyday for the past 7 days!

So, the price of oil is at it's lowest price in the past 5 months. I remember the hype at the beginning of the summer where people were saying that gas might hit $5/gallon due to the high oil costs. And even though the price of gas is easing up a bit, the auto makers are sliding in sales. I think GM and Ford posted huge decreases in sales volume and I think the number for Chrysler was even higher! My feeling is that the economy, in general, is bringing down sales and not just gas prices....like everyone thought 3 months ago. We will have to see what the economy decides to do here in the 4th quarter of this year. Let's hope the election gives people hope and consumers the confidence to go and spend to get us out of this funk!

On a light note....Slow-motion replay in baseball now, huh? Interesting. I guess if even tennis players can challenge calls, then why shouldn't baseball have something high tech to help out the umps. And of course, it's Alex Rodriguez and the New York Yankees (go yanks!) that benefit from the 1st time usage of this new feature. Gotta love it!!!!

no hurricane and no baby

Well, my wife and I thought we were going to have the baby by now. The doctor told her that it would be anyday...but that was on Friday! I've been on edge ever since then. Every little pain or tightness in her stomach is alarming....and it's not easier even though this is the 2nd baby. However, if everyone is healthy...that's all I care about.

So, thank the heavens that the hurricane missed a direct hit on New Orleans, but it's still so tragic down there. I think I should figure that it's a part of living under sea level and in an area that is know for hurricanes but you still can't help but feel for the people who make their home there. I know there is still a lot of flooding and it seems like the levees would be stronger and higher but I guess it's something I won't understand because I don't live there.

And of course, gas prices are going down since it wasn't a direct hit. That's good news too!

Sarah Palin...interesting choice. I wonder what will happen between now and November! This is going to be an exciting election!!!
