It was announced yesterday that 7 factories would re-open and start making some cars!!! I know it's hard to believe, but it's actually not as easy as you would think to get new inventory right now. Some dealers aren't willing to trade cars or sell them due to the current demand. We are selling new cars again!!!! It's great and it gets the economy going..not just locally, but in the midwest as well. Good news.....good news.

If only the price of gas would cooperate too. I know that it will probably not be "cheap" ever again but the volatility of the market just makes me either scratch my head in confusion or make a fist out of anger. The foreign oil. The local refineries. The stock market. It all makes me just so mad that we have to just take whatever we're stuck with......well, but I guess we could say that about a lot of things right now. So, I'll stop here......
On non-political or economic news, Jay wants an iphone. Well, I do too...however, we are "in" with Verizon and too many of our friends and family are too. It would not be a smart financial move to switch to a different carrier with all of the fees attached and so on and so forth. However, the applications are SO cool on the iphone. And just yesterday, I saw this on the NYTimes blog and well...Jay could have just driven to the AT&T store as soon as I told him about the Formula-1 application. http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/17/iphone-apps-for-the-formula-one-fan/ It's an application that follows the F1 racers from qualifying to the big race on Sunday. He enjoys F-1 racing very much but it's always on very early in the morning and recording it just isn't the same. AND usually, I have a ton of things for him to do on his one day off that he gets a week and sitting around watching a recorded car race hardly ever makes it on the "honey do" list. Maybe when we retire......
