Odds and Ends....

It's only Wednesday but it feels like it should be Friday. Anyone else out there with me on that?

So, it looks like good news for Formula One since it's staying put at ONE unit. The F.I.A. president Max Mosley is stepping down and budget caps are being moved and everyone is shifting so that the series will continue on as one..not two. It's surprising what can get done when the top 8 teams want to pull out.

The official website for the Cash for Clunkers is up. www.cars.gov. I read a survey that said 54% of Americans did not support this program. I see both sides. I like trying to get the economy going but I'm not sure if this is the right program because it only allows for sale of new cars. I understand wanting to help those companies to keep going and keep US jobs, but how many people can afford new cars right now EVEN with rebates of $3500 or $4500.

Jake Locker is meeting with the Anaheim Angels??!!! I knew he was drafted by them and he says his 1st priority is football, but I hope he stays committed to UW. Our football team is not much right now and without him????? Um...might as well be JV.

Also, the Oscars announced today that they will expand the "Best Picture" nomination for 5 movies to 10. I can't even think if there are 10 Oscar-nomination worthy movies out each year. I guess this will create more buzz and more to talk about...and hopefully, raise the bar of good quality movies.

Finally, Iran. Don't know what to say or what to do or what to think about the whole thing. Just have to trust that we are doing what we can for the innocent ones that might be getting hurt through all of this.
